Hollowla, Colorofikita!

Short post again...I'm really distracted right now. I should probably stop watching TV and work on my story...hold on, that might have to wait. Phineas and Ferb just came on. :D

Anyway, I've been helping my little brother work on his story. Jake is determined to make it interesting, exciting, and unique. He is also very concerned about making it too cliche. He frequently asks me if it seems like it's copying Lord of the Rings or something. I'm always eager to give him advice and suggestions, as well as constructive criticism (which he takes very well). 

One of his characters, temporarily named Flash, is a member of an unkown humanoid species, and occasionally aids the main characters. He also speaks an unknown language. We've come up with a phrase he says often: "Hollowla, colorofikita." 

It took us a while to even figure out how to pronounce it. It's something like this: "Hollow-lah, color-off-icketa." We don't even know what it means ourselves. But I guess Flash does.  

Zoe Comic in the Works + Sapphira Drawing

So, there's a teeny-tiny chance that I might get my Zoe comic get started soon. I have almost all of it planned out. I looked back at the old ones and realized I needed to do a lot of story-tweaking.

But I'm gonna start sketching out the first page today! I want to have the whole thing done first, then post pages weekly or something. That way I can have them all finished and not stress about getting the next week's page done.

I've been reading so many Bryan Davis lately...I'm hoping to finish "Warrior" today so I can finally return it to the library.

One of my favorite characters in his series, "Oracles of Fire" is Sapphira. Anyway, I started wondering what the book would be like if it were a manga. This picture is basically my idea of what a page of it might look like (By the way, the page reads right-to-left, the Japanese way, like a traditional manga.)

She's supposed to be saying "Give me light!" in Japanese. I used Google Translate, though, so it might be incorrect...

Just to make things clear (so I don't get sued XD), the drawing is copyrighted by me, but the character is copyrighted by Bryan Davis. Anyone know of a more professional-sounding way to say that...?

More Story Stuff

Currently I'm doing a bit more character development for my story...it's coming along pretty nicely. I've actually drawn pictures of Lynnette SMILING. :O Ok, maybe it's not that big of a deal, but it means I'm finally developing the part of her that actually enjoys doing fun things...

I'm also really sad...for this reason: I've analyzed all possible options, and it is completely necessary for one of my much-loved characters to die!!!! T____T  Seriously, I was almost in tears when I mentally wrote out her death scene (Plus, I was listening to sad piano music at the time...).

Anyway, what with school starting and everything, I might be posting less, but I'll still try! As for the Daily Doodle...that's gonna be put on hold for a while. I may post some sketches here and there, though. What do you think I should draw? I'll take suggestions! ;D
